Welcome to Prairie Past – your window into the forgotten corners of Saskatchewan and beyond. We are Alicia and Corey, a husband-and-wife team passionate about documenting the rich tapestry of rural heritage through photography, videography, and drone footage. Since 2008, we've been exploring the backroads of the Canadian prairies, uncovering abandoned buildings that tell stories of communities, cultures, and eras long past.
We call this project Prairie Past and we specialize in capturing the haunting beauty of abandoned structures—from ghost towns and grain elevators to historic churches and derelict schools. Our work is a labor of love, self-funded and driven by a deep respect for the history these sites represent. Through our lens, we aim to preserve and share the stories of these forgotten places, offering a glimpse into the lives once lived within their walls.
Explore our galleries to view stunning photographs and immersive videos of these sites, and read our blog for insights into our exploration process, safety tips, and the history behind each location. If you know of an abandoned building that deserves to be documented, we'd love to hear from you. Join us on this journey to uncover and celebrate the hidden gems of the prairies.
