Oscar Lake Schoolhouse

One Room Schoolhouse Time Capsule

Oscar Lake schoolhouse, also known as Krivoshein School or Krivoshein-Oscar Lake School is located it Saskatchewan. It was built in 1932 and is a Municipal heritage property.

This was actually the second school on the property. The first school was built in 1912 and was used as a school but also for meetings, social events and other community events. In 1930 it was destroyed by a fire. The new school which still stands today was built in 1931 and finished in 1932. It remained open until 1966 when the students were bused to a nearby town.

After it closed the school continued to be used by the community for numerous functions. At some point it was set back up like the original schoolhouse with desks and other items in place. It no longer hosts events but rather became a historical site, more like a museum.
