Palo (Whiteshore Lake ) Mine

Abandoned sodium sulphate mine in Saskatchewan.

Palo Mine, also known as the Whiteshore Lake mine is a sodium sulphate mine near Palo, Saskatchewan. It opened in 1934 to mine sodium sulphate which would be shipped out via rail. It was open until the 2000s and then closed. Online records state that it was purchased but it was abandoned when we explored it in 2016. The site has now been demolished.

We explored the site in the winter so the white you see is a combinate of snow and sodium sulphate.
