St. Demetrius church, also known as Holar is a rural church located near Wynyard. The first church of the parish was built in 1924 and was a small rectangular church. It was sold in 1952 and moved to the community of Foam Lake. The second church that still stands today was built in 1953.
The church is built in the shape of an elongated cross with three frontal cupolas and a basement. The inside contains sacristies, a sanctuary, a choir loft, and wooden pews for 150 people. The church does have electricity and is heated by oil. On-site there is a bell tower, church cross (1920), and parish hall (1940).
The community still uses the church for two services a month. For larger celebrations, the church is filled with people who return for these special occasions. The hall is still used for dances and dinners.
The church is beautiful and well-loved by the community. Considering this is a rural church, it's a beautiful site to see.
